What is Wired Glass

Wired glass is also called shatterproof glass and steel wire glass. In the calendering production process, a special sheet glass is formed by pressing a wire mesh into a semi-liquid glass ribbon. The advantage of the wired glass is that it is stronger than ordinary glass. When the flat glass is subjected to impact or temperature change, it will be broken without breaking, cracking and not scattering, avoiding small pieces of angular flies flying out of the wound, such as fire spread,and the sheet glass is heated and bursting. At the same time, it can still maintain a fixed state and play a role in isolating the fire. It is also called fireproof glass. The disadvantage is that in the production process, the screen is easily oxidized by high-temperature radiation, and the surface of the flat glass may have yellow and bubbles like "rust spots". Wired glass is commonly used on skylights, canopy roofs, and doors and windows that are subject to vibration.

Wired glass prevents debris from scattering. Even if the external pressure such as an earthquake, a storm, or an impact breaks the flat glass, the debris is difficult to fly, so it is less likely to cause debris to scatter and injure people than ordinary glass sheets.

3.Anti-theft property

Ordinary sheet glass is easy to break, so thieves can sneak into illegal activities, while wired glass is not. Even if the sheet glass breaks, the metal wire mesh is still working, so the thief cannot easily steal. This anti-theft property of the wired glass gives people a sense of security.

Since the wire or the mesh is present in the wire glass, the integrity of the wire glass is greatly improved. Avoid damage to the whole when it is destroyed, so it has a certain fireproof effect and safety effect. The disadvantage of the wired glass is that the transparency is not good, because there is a mesh inside, which has a certain interference with the visual effect, and secondly, the exposed wire on the edge of the wired glass is easily corroded.
